Shab-e-barat

Shab e Barat or Lailatul Barat is an important night for Muslims celebrated on the night between the 14th and 15th of the month of Sha'ban.

In the subcontinent, this night is called Shab e Barat.

According to Islamic belief, Allah specifically forgives His servants on this night.

Many Muslims around the world observe Shab e Barat through supererogatory worship. In many areas, prayers are held on this night to ask God for forgiveness for their dead ancestors. Twelve Shia Muslims celebrate Muhammad al-Mahdi's birthday on this date. However, some communities oppose it.

Shab e Barat is a Persian word which is why this word is not used in Arabic. However, the month of Shaban is important. The middle date of the month of Shaban is important. Proof of which:

Hadith -

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: Allaah manifests Himself on the night of mid-Shabaan and forgives all of His creation except the polytheists and the envious.

শবে বরাত বা লাইলাতুল বরাত হচ্ছে হিজরী শা'বান মাসের ১৪ ও ১৫ তারিখের মধ্যবর্তী রাতে পালিত মুসলিমদের গুরুত্বপূর্ণ রাত। উপমহাদেশে এই রাতকে শবে বরাত বলা হয়। ইসলামী বিশ্বাস মতে, এই রাতে আল্লাহ তার বান্দাদেরকে বিশেষভাবে ক্ষমা করেন। বিশ্বের বিভিন্ন স্থানের অনেক মুসলমান নফল ইবাদাতের মাধ্যমে শবে বরাত পালন করেন। অনেক অঞ্চলে, এই রাতে তাঁদের মৃত পূর্বপুরুষদের জন্য আল্লাহর কাছে ক্ষমা চাওয়ার জন্য প্রার্থনার আয়োজন করা হয়। বারো শিয়া মুসলিমরা, এই তারিখে মুহাম্মদ আল-মাহদির জন্মদিন উদযাপন করে। তবে কিছু সম্প্রদায় এর বিরোধিতা করে থাকেন।

উৎস -

শবে বরাত একটি ফর্সি শব্দ যার কারণে এই শব্দের ব্যবহার আরবীতে নেই। তবে শাবান মাসের গুরুত্ব রয়েছে। শাবান মাসের মধ্য তারিখের গুরুত্ব রয়েছে। যার প্রমাণ:

হাদিস -

রসূলুল্লাহ (সাল্লাল্লাহু ‘আলাইহি ওয়া সাল্লাম) বলেন, আল্লাহ মধ্য শাবানের রাতে আত্নপ্রকাশ করেন এবং মুশরিক ও হিংসুক ব্যতীত তাঁর সৃষ্টির সকলকে ক্ষমা করেন।
